With time, the fit of your dentures could begin to change. Because they are not as effective if they don\u2019t fit properly, adjusting them to accommodate your mouth is essential. When a denture is relined, new materials are added to its inside surface to help improve the fit and make the dentures comfortable again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How Are Dentures Relined?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

To reline a denture, your dentist sends it to a dental lab to fill in any gaps in the areas where the gums have changed. This can typically be done on the same-day or within a day or two depending on when you drop your dentures off for repair.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

 Some dental offices also provide chairside relines that can be done while the patient waits, however lab relines typically are more durable and last longer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
